This very handsome youngster is Jasper and he is believed to be nearly 2 years of age.
He is a very loving and friendly boy 💜that originated in Spain where he was rescued by a family after being dumped.
We are not sure why because there seems to be no medical reason, but Jasper does drink a lot of water (often from the families pond) which can cause him to wee frequently and has caused the odd accident where he drank too much, came indoors but then couldn’t get back out quickly enough. Because of this his water in the home is restricted and the pond is covered.
Jasper has been living in a lovely home with four children ageing from 8 years up to 17 years. He absolutely adores the children and they adore him 💖 even though he has eaten some of their favourite toys like Lego and crayons and he can dispatch soft toys at an amazing speed 🙈
Jasper particularly likes the eldest son who spends a lot of time with him, walking him and playing with him 😎
Jasper can have a good recall but is easily distracted when there’s another dog around to play with, or something interesting to sniff.
Jasper loves nothing more than cuddling up with his owners and sharing his affection with them all . He is very focused on his ball and is happy when he has something to carry around the house in his mouth.
He responds well to training, but this will need to be ongoing so that Jasper can become an important family member.
Jasper can also be left after exercise for short periods of time with canine company quite happily.
He is neutered and holds a full pet passport and travels very well.
We don't know how he would react around cats or livestock.
Jasper is happy living with a rescue female Dalmatian even though she can show signs of fear aggression to other dogs, they get along fine 😊 except for one incident over Christmas where they were in a strange place and their food bowls were put too close together, sadly a food fight broke out resulting in a bite to the owner as she separated them. Minutes later they were fine again.
Jasper did show positive for a low level of Leishmaniasis in Spain, for this he takes 2 x allopurinol tablets a day, it is believed that it was found and treated at an early stage, the vets will be reassessing shortly and could be suggesting stopping this medication.
Jasper is currently in the Hampshire area and will be rehomed with his 5 weeks free Agria Insurance and our Rehoming Contract.
